Devoted Backyard Cottage Wedding

Sometimes, when we receive sentimental wedding messages like this Backyard beauty, our photographers present (in this matter Rachel Ann Media) give a warmer description than we could ever…

“When Bryan and Kastine got engaged, Kastine immediately imagined their wedding in the courtyard of their parents’ house in Harlingen, Texas. How special is it to have an devoted wedding at the place where you grew up?

At the time of the couple’s engagement, they were living in San Antonio, while their family in Harlingen had turned their house into a nursing home for elderly women. However, with thoughtful planning on the part of the bride and her mother, her dream came true!

The wedding was a beautiful devoted wedding with less than 50 guests. The courtyard was decorated with a rustic bohemian touch with beautiful white wooden benches, while the corridor was lined with tree stumps, green and yellow sunflowers.

Bryan and Kastine said their “I do” in front of a macrame altar, also decorated with flowers and greenery. After the ceremony, the bride and groom went for dinner and dessert, while mingling with their family and closest friends.”

Our Love Story

We both worked in Chile and it was Love at first sight!

For our suggestion, we exchanged Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve and he had to wait and Suggest after in the week, but he couldn’t wait!

The Dress And The Clothes

I loved the way the lace wedding dresses looked, and I loved the way the princess dresses looked, so I chose the perfect dress that had lace and still sparkled. He opted for a casual suit, not a jacket, just the navy sapphire vest, matching the sunflowers and white roses, to keep them more rustic than traditional.

My mother and grandmother have dedicated a room for me and my best friends where they can get ready. There were different sinks and on the walls hung pictures of me and my Cousins and best friends when we were little.

The style and the decor

Our wedding style was Boho and our colors and flowers were composed of white roses and sunflowers. We chose a small wedding in the courtyard with close family and friends in my parents’ (married) house. We used Pinterest for most of our decorations.

Schedule

The most important thing for both of us is the memories! The choice of a photographer was a priority. We decided to do without a DJ or a musician. Instead, we created a Playlist on Spotify with some of our favorite love songs.

Tips for other couples

Ask for help! We could never have organized our wedding without the help of our families and friends. It can be such a stressful event if it’s not necessary! Stay calm and ask for help. We were blessed that our family expanded their house for us and our friends to help with the construction during the wedding day!

Favorite moments

During the father-daughter dance, my mother and my husband joined us spontaneously and that made the Moment all the sweeter.

Taking photos after the first look, we had such a great time with our photographers, they really knew how to make us laugh to get these real images.

Cake

Our wedding cake consisted of two tiers, lightly frosted with white icing to create a rustic look with sunflowers on the first tier.

Honeymoon

We started our honeymoon on South Padre Island and enjoyed the beach. Then we stayed at The Menger Hotel in San Antonio and did touristy things all over downtown. We spent the rest of the week on a holiday home and enjoyed the beginning of the rest of our life.
