In the Simi Valley, northeast of Los Angeles, is the magical Hummingbird Nest Ranch-a Spanish-style Villa adorned with beautiful colorful flowers, a vast plot for all kinds of parties, breathtaking views and old world spaces for breathtaking portraits.
It was the perfect setting for Shaina and Shahab’s incredibly colorful and lavish celebration. Shaina, herself a fashion designer, has transmitted her love of color with the help of her Best Bride planner, from breathtaking flowers to wedding decoration.

Dress
My dress was by Idan Cohen, an Israeli designer based in Tel Aviv. Her collection attracted my personal style the most when I went through each dress put on the rack! I wanted something with glitter and sparkles and that’s exactly what I found in Idan’s recent collection!
There were two dresses that I fell in love with and wanted a combination of both, then The Kinsley James team mentioned how Idan can also create custom dresses! From that moment on, I knew that he was going to make my dress, because with him, I was able to create the most magical and whimsical dress of my dreams by bringing my Vision and his Vision to life!
The Wedding Style & Flowers
Our theme was modern rustic, as it was an outdoor wedding, we immediately thought rustic, but an exclusively rustic wedding did not fit our personality, so we knew we had to give it an elegant and angular touch.
Our color palette was inspired by Shaina’s Mars and Stars LA fashion line and that’s where the personal touch came into play. Shaina is all about bright colors and anything that catches the eye.
The flowers were mixtures of yellow, red, pink, Orange, lavender and green. Butterfly Floral was the perfect florist to bring these colors to life in our table decoration and our Chuppa arrangement. There are no surprises when working with butterfly flowers, they will give you exactly what you dream of and more!
Favorite moments
One of our favorite moments on our wedding day was our special session with our bridesmaids and groomsmen. We wanted something different and unique and above all fun! We blew up colorful smoke bombs and everyone danced through the color!
Location
We got married at the Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Simi Valley. We knew we were getting married there before we even got engaged. We wanted something different and new for ourselves, we wanted to be under the night sky and have a magical night. Therefore, the Hummingbird Nest Ranch was the perfect choice. It was a blank canvas on which we could design every detail from A to Z.
Photography And Videography
Katie Beverley was our wedding photographer. We had stumbled upon Katie’s Instagram and we loved the fidelity of her photos! Their photos are exactly what everything looks like in real life and that’s what we wanted. Our videographer was VidiCam Productions.

My Best Bride wedding planner guided me through the whole process and really made all my dreams come true, our wedding was more than I could have ever imagined.
Tips for other couples
I highly recommend creating a Pinterest board with all your wedding inspirations. For a smooth ride, please keep your boards ready before meeting with each of your suppliers. Instagram is also the key to wedding planning.
Reception
The dance floor was a black and white checkered board inspired by one of Shaina’s pieces in her line, the ‘Xenon’ dress.
Honeymoon
We have never been to Europe, so we chose the two romantic destinations that are Italy and Paris.
