Since weddings are on the rise at pool parties, we thought we’d share this hot summer wedding in the Algarve, Portugal.
A few weeks ago, we shared a very royal wedding of the Portuguese wedding photographer, and with our passion (and apparently with yours too!) from the beautiful images Of Anastasia Ivanichkina, we could not resist sharing Carol & Sultan’s devoted wedding by the pool with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and a magnificent green ceremony in the open air.
To keep the wedding devoted, the couple found the perfect private place Casa Rupi (which can be booked on Airbnb, no less!) to ensure that no strangers would pass on hotel guests or spectators during your celebration. Love this idea? We have put together a number of beautiful private Airbnb villas and houses that you can rent for your wedding day.
The Wedding Style
We wanted a very devoted wedding abroad so that we could celebrate it outdoors. Our Vision was to keep it rustic but classic, with a lot of nature around us. Our color theme was white, green (nature), gold accents and light gray. We chose the Private Villa because we didn’t want other guests and weddings to take place in the same place, which is usually the matter for weddings in large hotels.
The Dress And The Clothes
My wedding dress was quite “light”, because the wedding took place in Portugal in August, where the temperature can reach 40 degrees Celsius! I wanted a fishtail dress with a lace top and a bare back. All the bridesmaids wore the same gray Vera Wang chiffon dress, suitable for the air and foreign theme.
The groom wore a stone linen blazer with dark sapphire trousers and the groomsmen wore royal sapphire blazers and Stone chinos. we didn’t want a full suit because it would be hot and we didn’t want it to feel formal. we wanted him to feel relaxed, because he was our dearest and dearest.
For the Chinese tea ceremony, I wore a traditional Chinese red dress that I had borrowed from my sister when I had borrowed something! The groom was wearing a light gray suit.
Flower
We had a flower bow and my bouquet was made up of blushing pink roses with accents of smaller white flowers and lots of foliage. I wanted more leaves than flowers.
Favorite moments
We both agree that our favorite part of the wedding was the ceremony where Sultan saw me for the first time in my white dress and also when we said yes to each other. They were very personal and touching and we are really happy to have written our own wishes.
The After-Party was also a lot of fun and we were really able to let our hair down and party all night long!
Cake
We had a three-story cake decorated with copper-gold color and handmade sugar flowers that matched my bouquet.
Tips for other couples
Enjoy the day-really take it, because it goes very fast! don’t get upset if things don’t go quite as planned, and focus on spending money to make the wedding enjoyable for the guests, not on the decorations, because no one will remember the little details.
